$100 in free Google PPC Ads

Ever wanted to experiment with Google’s Pay-Per-Click ads, but been too scared to try? Here’s your chance.

Until December 31, you can access $100 in free advertising to try out Google AdWords.

If you’re not familiar with Google’s AdWords feature, here’s a quick explanation of how it works. When you go to Google and enter a search term, it brings up a list of all the top websites. But over on the side, on the right, it also brings up ads. These ads are “smart” because they are being brought up on the basis of the search term that you entered in Google.

These ads are pay-per-click, which means that the seller ONLY gets charged if you click on the ad and it takes you their website. They don’t get charged if you don’t click.

The PPC system works a bit like a popularity contest. The more general your search terms or keywords are, the more expensive the ads would be. For example, a keyword like “shoes” would be a much more expensive click than a keyword like “red shoes” which is more specific and targeted.

Google allows you to cap your ads wherever you like. Say you only want to spend $1/day on advertising. They will allow people to see your ads until it adds up to $1, then they pull the ad for the rest of the day, so you have a lot of control.

Here’s an article from a past guest post by Alex Papa.
