How to Generate a Call to Action

Call to action. CTA. Call it what you like but you can’t live without them in today’s world.

You can use a CTA anywhere; on your blog, your website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat.

Why are they important?

First of all, if you tell people what you want them to do, there’s a much better chance they will do it. It clears up any doubts, it lays out a clear path. Now, I’m not saying people are lazy… exactly. But people are really, really busy, and if you give them a simple task and make it easy for them to complete that task, there’s a much better chance they will do it.

Secondly, CTAs generate engagement and sales. Obviously we all know why sales are important. But engagement is also deeply important. It increases your brand, spreads it further. Now that so many social networks have algorithms (I’m looking at you, Instagram), engagement is becoming even more important, just for survival.

So, how do you craft a CTA? It isn’t rocket surgery!

Really simply, ask for what you want: ask your audience to like, comment on or share your post. I know it sounds really oversimplified, but there you go…
