This landed in my inbox yesterday, and the timing is perfect. I’m teaching three courses right now, and all of them are at the point of the course where we are learning about Facebook.

Is Facebook distracting? Yep, for sure it is. But it also allows students to reach out and connect, socially, and that is a positive thing.

I also use Facebook as a teaching tool. I create a closed group for each one of my classes, and it allows me communicate with the group quickly and easily. It also allows them to share ideas and post relevant links to their class.

For better or for worse, it’s here for a while…
