Inspriation or Advertisment?

A couple weeks back, I did a presentation on YouTube at #SocialHRCamp. Jeremy, one of the participants, told me about this video.

Nike gave a YouTube filmmaker, Casey Neistat, a bunch of cash to make a movie on his interpretation of the phrase “Make It Count.” Casey took his best friend and headed for the airport, and spent the next 10 days traveling the world until the money ran out. This film is that footage.

I think what we’re looking at is the future of marketing. It’s inspirational, and it’s not all pushy hard sell. What Nike is trying to sell here, is a brand, a lifestyle, really.

What do you think?? Is this a successful way to market Nike?
