50 Ways to Boost Your Productivity #Infographic

Kids, if your life is anything like mine, and I can only assume it is, because modern times, then you have a million things on your to-do list. Feeling overwhelmed is the norm.

How can you really get shit done?? That’s the topic of today’s infographic.

Here are some of my favorite ways to boost your productivity:

Cut out distractions. I know, it sounds really obvious. but whenever I’m working on something and I have to flip over to FB to look something up, I always end up down the rabbit hole. Shut down your tabs and turn off any noisy notifications. Use a distraction-free writing tool. Multi-tasking is not your friend.

Set a timer. When I have a task I really don’t want to do, but I know I have to do it (accounting, taxes), I set a timer for 20 minutes, and just make myself do it. 20 minutes is not that long, you can force yourself to focus on a distasteful task for that long, knowing that then it’ll be over and you won’t have to worry about it. If I have a big task to to do that’s distasteful, I do it for 20 minutes a day until it’s done.

Write down your distractions. Sometimes, when I’m working on something, I remember another task that I forgot. Writing it down helps, because it’s out of my brain, and onto a piece of paper for later. I know I won’t forget it now.

Get out of the office. Okay, my office is my living room, but I like to go and work in coffee shops as well. Not only do they have coffee (mmm… coffee… ) but working in a different environment can also help to get you creatively unstuck.

Rewards. If you finish a task, reward yourself with 10 minutes on Facebook, or to watch a YouTube video… or if you finish a big task (ie taxes), reward yourself with some self-care (I’m a fan of pedicures, myself).
